North Korean leader Kim Jong Il visited the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang, while the chief U.S. negotiator on North Korea arrived in Beijing today (Saturday) as efforts continued to revive stalled nuclear disarmament talks.
Mr. Kim's visit was at the request of the Chinese ambassador (Liu Xiaoming). North Korea's state media reported that the meeting happened but did not elaborate on what was discussed.
Meanwhile, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill told reporters Friday that he might hold talks during his Beijing visit with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Kye Kwan.
Pyongyang was supposed to provide a list of all of its nuclear programs by the end of last year, under a deal reached with the U.S., China, Japan, Russia and South Korea. But Washington says the list was not complete.
